Nagaoka University of Technology, in cooperation with Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), will implement "KOSEN Open Innovation - Challenges from Africa (KOI) 2026," a program for technical college students to take on the challenge of solving social issues in Africa. In conjunction with this program, we have begun accepting applications for participating teams from technical college students throughout Japan.

The goal of this initiative is to provide KOSEN students with firsthand experience of global social challenges, deepening their understanding of international society. This highly ambitious project brings together the flexible ideas and advanced technical skills unique to KOSEN students to seek innovative solutions for the various issues facing Africa.

Through this program, we aim to nurture the global aspirations of young engineers and promote a new model for problem-solving through international industry-academia-government collaboration.

We look forward to receiving enthusiastic applications from students who are ready to test their potential on the global stage.
