On Friday, October 17, 2025, the "J-PEAKS Convergent Knowledge Workshop" Lecture and Discussion Session was held in the Function Room of the Regional GX Innovation Co-Creation Center at Nagaoka University of Technology (NUT).

The purpose of this seminar was to bring about social transformation by bringing together diverse fields of knowledge, creating a "vitality of knowledge" that generates new values, and giving back to the community.

The event was a great success, drawing more than 50 participants, including NUT students, faculty, and staff, as well as numerous representatives from companies and local governments.

During the lecture session, Mr. Heiwa Tsunami and Ms. Cornelia Kalcher Tsuha from Global Success Coaching delivered an interactive program on the importance of coaching and its methodologies, actively engaging the audience with group work.

The presentation session featured insights on a wide range of topics from Executive Vice President Tadachika Nakayama of NUT; Mr. Hiromi Yano, Former Counsellor of the WTO Rules Division; Mr. Daiki Masumoto, General Manager of the Converging Technology Laboratories at Fujitsu Limited; and Mr. Akihiro Ejiri of the Technology Succession Corporation. These presentations sparkled heated and passionate discussions that extended well past the scheduled closing time.

In closing, Executive Director and Vice President Takamasa Shigematsu of Osaka Metropolitan University (OMU)—a partner institution under the J-PEAKS project—delivered closing remarks, bringing the workshop to a successful conclusion.

Through the J-PEAKS project, NUT aims to realize Sustainability Transformation (SX) — a new paradigm of research university where society and the university evolve together in a sustainable manner, continuously driving social transformation.
