On Friday, November 21, 2025, we welcomed H.E. Mr. Takeshi Akamatsu, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Japan to the Republic of Senegal, to a roundtable discussion on the theme of creating social impact in global regions at Hybrid.

First, Ambassador Akamatsu gave a lecture titled "Diplomats and Science and Technology," in which he discussed his experiences and the role and mission of diplomats.

Afterwards, two JICA staff members who were invited as guests spoke freely about their experiences and what made them decide to become JICA staff members.

About 30 students participated in the event and seemed to be stimulated by hearing directly from people who are active overseas. We will continue to provide such opportunities for dialogue and learning, and will focus on developing human resources who can solve social issues in the future.
