On Friday, July 4, 2025, Nagaoka University of Technology (NUT) held a ceremony to celebrate the completion of the "Regional GX Innovation Co-Creation Center" and the "DXR Manufacturing Open Innovation Center" on campus.
The Regional GX Innovation Co-Creation Center is dedicated to empirical research aimed at promoting Green Transformation (GX) within regional communities worldwide. Meanwhile, the DXR Manufacturing Open Innovation Center serves as a hub for open innovation in the industrial sector, focusing on the development of manufacturing technologies that integrate Digital Transformation (DX) and Cross Reality (XR).

In his opening remarks, President Shigeharu Kamado expressed his gratitude to all stakeholders and outlined the centers' future direction. Following the presentation of certificates of appreciation to the contractors, a ribbon-cutting ceremony was performed by President Kamado, along with Mr. Tatsunobu Isoda (Mayor of Nagaoka City), Mr. Fumitoshi Nogami (Director, Niigata Prefecture), Mr. Atsushi Inoue (Director-General, MEXT), Mr. Hiroshi Kawakami (Director, METI), and Mr. Okito Ohara (Chairman of the Nagaoka Chamber of Commerce and Industry).
The event, attended by approximately 250 participants, concluded with a successful tour of both facilities.
NUT will maximize the potential of these new centers as hubs for community and industrial co-creation. By utilizing our "Convergence Knowledge," we will continue to contribute to society through the practical implementation of our research results.
