Lecture by Dr. Jihong Zhu of the University of York, a J-PEAKS Partner Institution / August 21, 2026
On Friday, August 21, 2026, Nagaoka University of Technology (NUT) hosted a lecture by Dr. Jihong Zhu from the University of York in the United Kingdom, a J-PEAKS participating institution. Dr. Jihong Zhu is a member of the Institute for Safe Autonomy at the University of York, where he conducts research on caregiving robots.
On the day of the event, he delivered a lecture titled “Robots for Caregiving and Chemistry Automation” to NUT students. A large number of students gathered at the venue and listened intently to the latest research findings on robot-assisted caregiving and the automation of chemistry experiments. The event also included a discussion with NUT faculty members, providing an opportunity to strengthen the ties between both universities.
The visit provided a valuable opportunity to further deepen collaborative relationships with J-PEAKS participating institutions. Moving forward, NUT will continue to promote active student exchanges and foster globally-minded professionals capable of thriving on the international stage.
