The 1st AIU-JPEAKS SX International Symposium Held at Akita International University/ April 25, 2025

On Friday, April 25, 2025, the 1st AIU-JPEAKS SX International Symposium, titled "Brave New World: AIU-Korea Joint Symposium on the 4th Industrial Revolution," was held at Akita International University (AIU), a partner institution of the J-PEAKS project.

The session opened with remarks from AIU President Monte Cassim, followed by a speech from Executive Vice President Tadachika Nakayama of NUT. Prof. Nakayama highlighted the creation of "Convergent Knowledge" through the collaboration between the two universities and shared his vision for a sustainable future society (SX).

The symposium featured a keynote lecture by Professor Yoshiyuki Sankai of the University of Tsukuba on social transformation using the wearable cyborg "HAL," alongside discussions on the impact of generative AI on education. Researchers from Seoul National University and Konkuk University (South Korea) also joined to engage in a lively exchange of views from an international perspective on the fusion of technology and humanity.

NUT will continue to strongly promote the "social implementation of knowledge" as envisioned by the J-PEAKS project through its robust partnership with AIU.
