[News Coverage] “TAKU” Initiative Featured in the Yomiuri Shimbun

The June 25, 2026, edition of the Yomiuri Shimbun featured “TAKU,” an exchange event in the fields of food and agriculture organized jointly by Osaka Metropolitan University (OMU) and Nagaoka University of Technology (NUT).

The article introduced the initiative as an effort to foster the next generation of agricultural leaders while deepening exchanges between regions, with participation from students at OMU and NUT, as well as researchers and corporate stakeholders in the food and agriculture sectors. The article reported that the joint workshop featured a demonstration on how to cook rice and served as an opportunity for students from OMU and NUT to deepen their learning from one another.

By bringing together insights rooted in different regions and fields, this collaboration serves as a model for developing human resources who will support the future of food and agriculture, and represents a concrete step toward creating community-driven social impact—a goal of J-PEAKS.
