Nagaoka University of Technology × Niigata University: Information Exchange Meeting for Industry-Academia Collaboration Practitioners / July 2, 2026

On Thursday, July 2, 2026, an information exchange meeting for industry-academia collaboration practitioners was held at the Regional GX Innovation Co-Creation Center at Nagaoka University of Technology (NUT), with representatives from Niigata University’s Organization for the Promotion of Social Collaboration in attendance.

This information exchange meeting is held regularly, alternating between the two universities, and this marks the 18th such event. On the day of the event, under the theme “Utilizing Generative AI in University Industry-Academia Collaboration,” intellectual property managers, Academia-Industry-Government Coordinators, URAs, and administrative staff from both universities engaged in a lively exchange of views that transcended organizational and job role boundaries. Topics ranged widely, including “challenges related to invention disclosures and intellectual property record management,” “introductions to AI tools useful for reviewing various contracts,” and “presentations on campus systems related to security export controls.” The session provided valuable insights and proved to be a mutually beneficial event for all participants.

Our university and Niigata University, both located in Niigata Prefecture, have been selected to participate in the J-PEAKS program. Through ongoing exchanges of information, we will advance our respective J-PEAKS initiatives and, through further collaboration between our two universities, contribute to strengthening Japan’s research capabilities and the development of our local communities.
