On Thursday, November 13, 2025, a press conference and facility tour were held at the Regional GX Innovation Co-Creation Center to announce the establishment of the "Laboratory for the Science of Fermentation." Led by Professor Wataru Ogasawara, Director for Strategic Objective 4 of the J-PEAKS Project, the laboratory aims to scientifically analyze traditional Japanese fermentation culture and redefine its value. The event was a great success, featuring a presentation by Mr. Hiraku Ogura, a renowned fermentation designer and Director of the lab, who spoke passionately about the future prospects of their activities. Through these initiatives, NUT will strongly accelerate its research and development, human resource cultivation utilizing local resources, and international industry-academia-government collaboration.
