NUT’s On-Campus "Yukimuro" Snow Storage Reaches Full Capacity for Sustainable Cooling
Snow collection has been successfully completed in the "Yukimuro" (snow-cooled storage) facility attached to the Regional GX Innovation Co-Creation Center (GX Building) at Nagaoka University of Technology(NUT).
The project aims to scientifically prove and evaluate the effects of the storage environment—such as changes in the taste and components of rice—by circulating cold, humid air from the Yukimuro throughout the facility to maintain a low-temperature, high-humidity environment.
By reinterpreting snow, a regional resource, from the perspective of GX (Green Transformation), NUT aims to pioneer new industrial possibilities.
