In March 2026, Associate Professor Kazuya Yokota of the Department of Mechanical Engineering at Nagaoka University of Technology (NUT) visited AudioLab at the University of York (U.K.) to exchange insights with Professor Gavin Kearney and Associate Professor Helena Daffern.

During the visit, Associate Professor Yokota traveled to CoSTAR LiveLAB, located near Wakefield, approximately one hour from York. He conducted a site visit of their state-of-the-art acoustic experimental facilities and engaged in a detailed information exchange regarding research methodologies and equipment management. Both parties plan to further discuss the expansion of joint research and mutual student exchange programs. This collaboration is expected to elevate Japan-UK research partnerships in the field of acoustic engineering to a new stage.

　The University of York is a partner institution in our J-PEAKS project, and this visit provided an opportunity to further strengthen our collaboration. In addition, we invited Professor Gavin Kearney to our university in February 2026 to deliver a special lecture.
