Introduction to the Research Unit Development Support Program / June 2026

As part of the Research Unit Development Support Program under the J-PEAKS project at Nagaoka University of Technology (NUT), six research units have been officially established as of June 2026, following a rigorous review process.
This initiative aims to systematically establish an interdisciplinary research framework that transcends the boundaries of traditional academic departments and majors, with the goal of realizing the four social transformation targets set forth by J-PEAKS (Beyond Manufacturing, Beyond Resources, Beyond Protection, and Beyond Promotion). Each research unit involves faculty members from at least two different departments or majors within the university and aims to advance research through “Convergent Knowledge.” Prior to the review process, URAs and others provided support to help each unit refine its proposals as a preparatory step.
We would like to introduce the selected research units.
