Special Lecture by Professor Evgeny Gurevich from FH Münster, University of Applied Sciences
Nagaoka University of Technology (NUT) was honored to welcome Professor Evgeny Gurevich and Dr. Tumkin from FH Münster, University of Applied Sciences, for a special lecture.
Professor Gurevich delivered a presentation titled "Extending the Resolution of Ultrafast Laser Material Processing." He provided an accessible and insightful explanation of various phenomena induced by the interaction between laser light and materials, incorporating the latest research findings. Additionally, he shared valuable insights into the German education and research system, specifically discussing the distinct roles of the University of Applied Sciences (UAS) compared to comprehensive universities. This session offered a significant opportunity for NUT’s faculty, staff, and students to broaden their international perspectives.
This lecture was made possible thanks to the research network established by Professor Mizue Mizojiri of Tohoku University (formerly an associate professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at NUT) during her stay in Germany under NUT's “Sabbatical Training Program.”.
NUT will continue to strongly promote the establishment of international research networks and the development of next-generation talent through personnel exchanges and joint research with overseas institutions.
