【Media Coverage】Small Weeding Robot Demonstration at "TanQ Mirai Farm" Featured in the Yomiuri, a Japanese Daily Newspaper
On Saturday, August 9, 2025, the 5th "TanQ Mirai Farm" (FY2025) was held at the Nakamozu Campus of Osaka Metropolitan University (OMU), a partner institution under the Nagaoka University of Technology (NUT) J-PEAKS project. Assistant Professor Yuya Takimoto and his research team from the Department of Mechanical Engineering at NUT participated in the event, demonstrating a small, autonomously controlled weeding robot. This demonstration of cutting-edge technology was featured in the morning edition of the Yomiuri Shimbun (newspaper) on Sunday, September 7, 2025.
NUT will continue to strengthen its partnership with Osaka Metropolitan University. Through these activities, the university will strongly promote research and development utilizing university resources, human resource development for the next generation, and the solving of social issues through industry-academia-government collaboration.
