A Small Weeding Robot was Piloted at the "Q Mirai Farm".
On Saturday, August 9, 2025, the 5th "Exploratory Q Mirai Farm" was held at the Osaka Metropolitan University Nakamozu Campus, where Assistant Professor Yuya Takimoto and others from Nagaoka University of Technology (NUT) demonstrated a small autonomously controlled robot that removes weeds.
On the day of the event, participating children tried their hand at operating a robot in an actual rice paddy field. It was a valuable opportunity for the children to experience firsthand how the latest robot technology is being used in the agricultural field, and to increase their interest in the future of agriculture.
Through these activities, NUT will continue to strongly promote research and development utilizing local resources, human resource development for the next generation, and solutions to social issues through industry-academia-government collaboration.
