Mr. Fukui, Deputy Director-General of the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology, and his delegation visited our school and exchanged opinions on J-PEAKS.
On Monday, July 28, 2025, Toshihide Fukui, Deputy Director-General of the Science and Technology Policy Bureau, Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology (MEXT), and others visited the university and exchanged opinions with President Kamado and the university's executive committee regarding the university's initiatives for the "Project to Promote the Enhancement of Regional Core and Distinctive Research Universities (J-PEAKS).
At first, Vice President Nakayama gave an overview of the project, and then Councilor Fukui explained that as a J-PEAKS-adopted university, the University is expected to become a core university in the region and a domestic hub of research fields, leading Japan's cluster of research universities. Following the discussion, President Kamado and other members of the Executive Committee exchanged opinions on the University's initiatives in the project, including human resource development and utilization, and strengthening of the research infrastructure.


Next, Councilor Fukui and his delegation moved to a different venue to receive explanations from Director Tanaka of the Center for Analytical Instrumentation and Director Hiraga of the DXR Agile Manufacturing Research and Development Center on the University's distinctive Core Facility Project and DXR Manufacturing Platform initiatives. After that, technical staff and URAs exchanged opinions on the current status, evaluation, issues, and future prospects of the initiatives, and finally, the participants toured related facilities.
