Nagaoka University of Technology (NUT) will host the second installment of the DXR Manufacturing Platform Special Seminar series, "Understanding AM!"(AM: Additive Manufacturing), on Thursday, June 4, 2026, from 13:30 to 16:00, at the Multimedia System Building Conference Room.

Following the first session, "History, Basics, and Technology of AM" (held on April 28), the theme for this session is "Metal AM Technology, DfAM (Design for Additive Manufacturing), and Software." We are honored to once again welcome Specially Appointed Professor Thomas Pang (President & CEO, Additive Japan Corporation) as the lecturer. The seminar will provide practical, implementation-focused insights, covering everything from the technical essence of metal AM processes to DfAM methodologies and the strategic application of related software.Following the seminar, the 8th DXR Manufacturing Platform Research Meeting will be held, featuring presentations from member companies.

This series, which aims to deepen the understanding of AM technology and its industrial implementation, will continue with Part 3 (July 7: "AM Utilization and Business Models") and Part 4 (August 4: "AM Economics and Implementation"). Please note that prior membership in the DXR Manufacturing Platform is required to attend.
