On Wednesday, December 17, 2025, Nagaoka University of Technology (NUT) hosted a lecture in a hybrid format featuring Lecturer Dr. Shuhei Miyashita and Associate Professor Dana Damian, a distinguished research couple from the University of Sheffield, UK.

The University of Sheffield, a participating institution in the J-PEAKS project, is a national university based in Sheffield, South Yorkshire, located in the central region of England, and is ranked in the top 100 universities in the world.

Both are affiliated with the Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering, and are conducting research on biomedical robots and medical robotics, presenting their cutting-edge research findings during the lecture.

After the lecture, the couple, who visited the university with their child, received numerous questions from a variety of perspectives, making this a very valuable opportunity.

NUT will continue to promote the strengthening of efforts in various forms with participating institutions to realize research collaboration.
